My client, a nimble and fast-growing transport consultancy, is seeking a Transport/Traffic Engineer to support them at a time of business growth. Key Responsibilities
As an independent project lead, you will manage tasks from scoping through to delivery:
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients and confidently translate complex technical analysis into plain English for non-technical stakeholders.
- Prepare and develop comprehensive Transport Assessments and consent strategies aligned with local (RMA, AUP) and national standards.
- Undertake site visits, data collection, and essential traffic modelling (proficiency in SIDRA or AIMSUN required).
- Project Leadership. Take full responsibility for end to end project administration and ensuring professional conduct in all external interactions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a solutions-focused, locally experienced engineer ready to step up you will demonstrate the following:
... - 3–5 years' NZ experience in traffic engineering, ideally gained within a consultancy setting.
- Strong track record using SIDRA for traffic modelling and proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic CAD.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transport Engineering.
- Demonstrated familiarity with RMA, AUP, and consenting processes.
- Proactive, able to manage competing deadlines, and holds a current NZ driver's licence.
- Highly Regarded: Safe Systems certification, NZTA Inspector certification, or working towards ENGNZ Chartered Membership.
