What You'll Do
You will take ownership of a key operational area within the flagship Auckland distribution facility. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving performance, optimising systems, and fostering a world-class safety culture across your teams. You will be instrumental in executing strategic initiatives that support the sustained growth of our national network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary Account Manager for existing customers utilising International and 3PL services nationally, proactively engaging with their logistics teams through regular face-to-face meetings to foster long-term relationships.
- Actively grow the 3PL warehousing solution (for both International and Domestic customers) and related transport services, while supporting the National Business Development Manager on non-customer engagement strategy.
- Collaborate closely with the International Team (including the Australian-based team) to identify, pursue, and implement new business opportunities in Australia and other international markets.
- Meet defined revenue and margin KPIs/budgets. Prepare and deliver professional presentations and reports to stakeholders, showcasing performance metrics, and future business development progress.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Operations and Network Development teams to ensure alignment, smooth "go-live" implementation for new services, and continuous operational performance improvements.
- Market Integration: Maintain in-depth knowledge of current market conditions, link with industry forums, and integrate into the wider transport industry to inform strategy.
- Culture & Strategy: Actively foster a culture of continuous improvement and incorporate the Balanced Scorecard into all aspects of the role.
About You
You are a pragmatic, decisive, and results-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment. You possess a proven ability to lead large teams, solve complex logistical problems under pressure, and drive sustainable operational change.
To be eligible for this role, you should have:
- Proven senior leadership experience (5+ years) in a high-volume logistics, warehousing, or distribution centre environment (ideally FMCG, Retail, or 3PL).
- Demonstrable track record of improving safety outcomes, operational efficiency, and team performance metrics.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets and labour costs.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business.
- Proficiency in modern Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
