Are you a skilled Data Architect ready to create lasting impact through modern data platforms? We're looking for a seasoned expert to join a nationally recognised organisation helping shape the future of media and digital content delivery across Aotearoa.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong experience in data engineering and architecture, ready to lead initiatives across the Azure platform with a focus on Databricks and modern data modelling patterns.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading data architecture and strategy efforts, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, governance, and long-term business goals.
• Designing and implementing scalable, high-performance data solutions using Azure, Databricks, and Delta Lake.
• Collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to translate business requirements into robust data designs.
• Building and optimising data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL within a modern data platform.
• Embedding medallion architecture principles and best practices for data quality, lineage, and security.
• Supporting integration, compliance, and governance across platforms, enabling analytics and reporting at scale.
  
  

Key Skills & Experience:

• Expertise in data architecture and advanced data engineering across Azure and Databricks ecosystems.
• Strong command of SQL, Python, PySpark, and big data frameworks.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Delta Tables, and Power BI.
• Familiarity with data modelling concepts including Medallion Architecture and Star Schema.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and automation in data environments.
• Proven ability to manage project risks, vendor delivery, and stakeholder expectations across complex programmes.
