Data & Insights Analyst - Commercial & Working Capital
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
About the Opportunity:
This pivotal role within a Commercial Finance team focuses on key deliverables, reporting, forecasting, working capital, and inventory partnering. You will be instrumental in leading the weekly/monthly commercial reporting agenda, providing crucial insights to the Merchandise team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the weekly/monthly commercial reporting, ensuring the Merchandise team receives timely and accurate key information, including inflation, stock loss, and SOF results.
- Coordinate the Merchandise forecasting process, collaborating with Finance Managers (Fresh/Packaged) and uploading data into group reporting tools.
- Drive the preparation of month-end result packs, consolidating commentary and ensuring a clear understanding of financial outcomes.
- Establish category inventory budgets and reporting mechanisms to effectively track performance.
- Provide comprehensive reporting support for Weekly Inventory, SLOB opportunities, GIT analysis, and potential risks.
- Generate insights to identify opportunities for optimizing the net working capital position through detailed analysis and ad-hoc deep dives.
- Facilitate collaboration between Buying and Replenishment teams to ensure decision-making considers the working capital impact.
- Liaise with various stakeholders for system and reporting enhancements.
Experience & Background:
- Relevant professional qualifications such as CA/CPA with 3+ years of post-qualified experience.
- Highly desirable experience within retail/FMCG/eCom sectors.
- Strong systems proficiency (e.g., SAP, Business Objects, GCP, Tableau) and advanced Excel/modelling skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, stakeholder management, and relationship-building abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial information for a diverse audience, making it easily understandable.
- Strong problem-solving, design, and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proven Commercial Acumen and the ability to consider business impacts in decision-making.
