The Role: Strategic Leadership and Operational Excellence
You will play a key role in maintaining smooth business operations by overseeing all purchasing activities, ensuring compliance, and managing supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Strategic Procurement: Develop and execute procurement strategies to achieve cost efficiencies while meeting organisational goals.
- Demand Forecasting & Sourcing: Analyse market trends to identify opportunities for better sourcing , and forecast demand to manage purchasing for the distribution center and branch locations.
- Supplier Negotiation & Management: Negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best possible terms, agreements, product quality, and price. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and proactively monitor risks.
- Inventory Management: Ensure inventory is managed in line with company processes. Work with branches to identify and sell through SLOB (Slow-Moving and Obsolete) stock. Support and run rolling stock takes or cycle counts.
- Team & Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and train procurement staff within the business. Lead communication across departments to foster collaboration and drive strategic outcomes.
- Compliance & Issue Resolution: Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory procurement requirements. Effectively deal with internal and external customer issues, warranties, and complaints.
We Are Looking For:
- Proven ability to negotiate favourable terms and establish reliable supplier relationships.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and training procurement teams.
- A proactive, non-combative approach to supplier relations, ensuring competitiveness and service expectations are met.
- Strong focus on Health and Safety systems and maintaining a safe workplace.
- Ability to utilise IT systems for transactional accuracy and recommend opportunities for better inventory management.
