We’re on the lookout for a resilient, street-smart Senior HR Manager who is ready to take ownership of the people function for a dynamic, high-volume business. We need a strategic thinker who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, someone who can command respect on the workshop floor just as easily as in the boardroom. If you are a strong-minded leader looking for a high-impact role with genuine work-life balance, we want to hear from you.

The Role
You will be the backbone of our HR operations, providing strategic and operational support to the CEO, CFO, and leadership team. You’ll step into a role with solid foundations, but we’re an ambitious team always looking for a better way. We value a fresh perspective, so if you spot opportunities to streamline our processes or improve our systems, you’ll have the freedom to drive those improvements.
Dealing with a mix of industrial and corporate staff, you will manage complex Employee Relations and oversee internal processes. You will act as a coach to senior leaders, helping them navigate difficult situations with confidence. While you will own the function, you will have support from external partners for specialised HR advice and immigration processing
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will:
- Support business goals through effective organisational design, remuneration structures, and talent strategies.
- Manage our current HR systems and recruitment workflows effectively, while bringing a fresh set of eyes to identify opportunities for innovation where appropriate.
- Manage complex ER issues, ensure strict compliance with NZ employment law, and oversee Health & Safety working conditions.
- Manage the company’s visa obligations and internal records, acting as the key liaison with our external immigration partners who handle the processing.
- Oversee payroll accuracy (shared with Finance), Time & Attendance systems, and maintain employee records.
- Provide high-level HR metrics and reporting to the Board and management team.
About You
We are looking for someone with the polish for the corporate team but the grit to work with industrial staff. To succeed in this role:
- You can hold your ground, handle difficult conversations, and navigate high-pressure situations without flinching.
- You can switch instantly between designing a long-term talent strategy and fixing a payroll query.
- You have deep knowledge of NZ legislation, privacy laws, and specifically Immigration/Visa compliance.
- You are self-motivated and capable of mentoring senior leaders to be better people managers.
- You have a background in HR Management, ideally within a mixed-collar environment (retail, logistics, automotive, or industrial)
If you are a seasoned HR professional looking for a high-level role that fits around your life, and have the toughness to drive change in a fast-paced environment in Onehunga, we'd love to hear from you!
At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from any background.
