Senior Test Specialist (Insurance)
Location: Auckland
Type: 6-Month Contract (Immediate Start Required)
The Opportunity
We are looking for two highly experienced Senior Testing Specialists to play a critical role in a key project within the Insurance sector. You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end testing of complex, core enterprise platforms, specifically focusing on Policy Management, Claims, and Billing systems. This role demands both technical testing expertise and a commitment to team leadership and mentorship.
Core Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Execution: Drive high-quality software delivery through the practical implementation and leadership of Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) frameworks.
- Enterprise Systems Testing: Perform comprehensive testing across complex, enterprise-wide technology platforms, including documentation and billing systems.
- Test Governance: Manage the full testing lifecycle - planning, execution, and defect tracking - using JIRA and Confluence.
- Team Leadership: Serve as a technical mentor, providing coaching and guidance to junior and mid-level testers within your project squad.
Required Skills & Experience
- BDD Expertise (Must-Have): Proven mastery of BDD frameworks, specifically Cucumber.
- Programming Proficiency: Competency in at least one object-oriented language (Java, Ruby, or Python).
- Testing Mindset: Deep understanding and application of context-based and risk-based testing methodologies for complex business applications.
Desirable/Advantageous Skills
- Experience with test automation using frameworks such as Ruby/Cucumber and Selenium.
- Proficiency in API testing tools (e.g., SoapUI and Postman).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins and Git.
