Senior Technical Business Analyst - 6 Month Contract
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a seasoned Technical Business Analyst to join a Security Squad within a leading NZ tech organization. This is a 6-month contract starting in early 2026 focused on foundational infrastructure and security initiatives that enable large-scale, secure product delivery.
This role sits at the intersection of technology, security, and delivery. You won’t just be documenting requirements; you’ll be a key enabler for engineers and architects, helping to build the secure backbone of a critical national platform.
What the Role is About
You will be supporting a specialized squad tasked with maturing the platforms ensuring that identity management, logging pipelines, and network security tools are scalable and robust.
Because this environment involves complex systems, the role is about reducing ambiguity. You will translate high-level security architecture into actionable technical stories that engineering teams can execute with precision.
Key Responsibilities
...Partner with engineering and architecture teams to clarify deep technical requirements and translate them into clear, high-quality user stories.
Lead technical discovery sessions to uncover dependencies, risks, and opportunities across multiple product teams.
Work across stakeholders to ensure alignment on authentication uplift (IAM), threat detection, and audit logging initiatives.
Drive Agile ceremonies and maintain a pristine backlog in Jira and Confluence, ensuring the Capability & Security Squad stays on track.
Navigate the technical "spiderweb" of infrastructure, identifying how changes in telemetry or logging pipelines impact the wider ecosystem.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable "talking tech" with engineers while managing senior stakeholders.
- The role is Auckland based - 3 days in the office.
Proven BA experience specifically within infrastructure, platform, or security-focused teams.
Understanding of IAM
Familiarity with monitoring tools
Exposure to security tooling and / or, secure system design principles.
Advanced skills in Agile delivery, including refined backlog management and technical documentation.

If you are a hands-on Technical BA who is confident navigating secure system designs and complex cloud environments, we want to hear from you.
