The Role
Are you a practical, hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, down-to-earth environment? We are actively seeking an experienced HR Advisor or Senior HR Advisor to join a lean, hard-working team immediately.
This is a true generalist position where you can roll up your sleeves and make a tangible impact. There is no "fluffy" stuff here—just real, everyday human resources work supporting frontline teams.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will act as the first point of contact for regional Team Leaders, providing robust, legally compliant advice. Your core duties will include:
Employee Relations & Disciplinary Management: Guiding leaders through performance management, addressing unsatisfactory conduct, and attending disciplinary meetings.
End-to-End HR Generalist Support: Assisting with policy implementation, maintaining HR databases, conducting file audits, and contributing to the wider people strategy.
Payroll Administration: Managing and processing a fortnightly payroll cycle, setting up new employees, and handling payroll queries.
Learning & Development: Assisting with employee inductions and tracking training records.
HSE Collaboration: Supporting health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives, entering incident reports, and managing ACC reconciliations.
What We Are Looking For
We are bypassing the standard entry-level profiles to find someone who already possesses a solid foundation in core HR processes and employment law.
Experience: 2+ years of dedicated experience as an HR Advisor or Senior Advisor. Direct experience handling disciplinary processes and payroll administration is essential.
Industry Fit: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (prior experience supporting blue-collar, field-based, or operational workforces is highly advantageous).
Knowledge: Strong understanding of current New Zealand HR legislation and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
Skills: Exceptional communication, strong conflict-resolution capabilities, and excellent time management skills. You must be able to write clearly and handle discrete, confidential matters with absolute integrity.
