About the Role
This isn't a role for someone who's added features inside someone else's React Native codebase. This is for a developer who has owned the full mobile development lifecycle from architecture decisions through to shipping a live app on both iOS and Android.
You'll co-lead the mobile app space alongside another experienced lead, working across consumer-facing applications used at scale across NZ.
What you'll actually be doing:
- Leading development across React Native, TypeScript and Expo
- Guiding app performance, stability and release quality end to end
- Shaping mobile engineering standards, testing, accessibility, design systems
- Partnering with product, design, web and platform teams on end-to-end delivery
- Using AI tooling as an accelerator with judgement, not just automation
Skills and Experience
- Valid NZ work right
- Full lifecycle React Native experience, you've shipped a live app, not just contributed to one
- Strong TypeScript skills
- Solid working knowledge of iOS and Android environments
- A calm, considered approach, collaborative not directive
- Expo experience advantageous
