The Opportunity
We are seeking an Data Analyst to join a cooperative Auckland-based team. Your primary focus will be converting complex datasets into clear, practical narratives that support both external clients and internal departments.
This role is suited for an analytical professional who excels in stakeholder engagement, expectation management, and applying data to achieve objective business outcomes. You will operate in an environment that prioritizes bringing data to life, continuous learning, and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with sales and consulting teams to deliver accurate customer and geospatial analytics products.
- Analyse datasets using Python and SQL to identify trends, patterns, and valuable business insights.
- Support the creation of tailored reports, dashboards, and data visualisations to help teams make informed decisions.
- Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly communicating findings through compelling data storytelling.
- Assist in maintaining data quality, workflows, and underlying spatial or customer datasets.
Skills and Experience Required
- Commercial experience as a data analyst (2 to 5 years), alongside proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel for analytical scripts and queries.
- Effective communication skills, with a demonstrated capability to manage stakeholder expectations and present data clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Practical experience with data visualisation tools to build accessible dashboards and reports.
- An analytical, problem-solving mindset with a strong interest in continuous learning and teamwork.
- Exposure to geospatial data modelling or mapping applications (such as Esri/ArcGIS) is highly advantageous but not mandatory.
